About Who bought whom
Joseph Ellul (5 Dolce Vita Corte, Triq San Mikiel, San Gwann, SGN 2303, Malta) runs this site and reads every brief it takes.
Why this site exists
The ONS counts deals worth £1 million or more and the register records every change of control, but neither is a list of who bought whom. This site reads both and shows the working.
Who it is for
Anyone buying a UK business, or watching who is, who wants the deal counts and the public records in one place.
What is on this site
One question, "who bought whom", answered with a quote form that works on the page with no account, 3 guides on the questions around it, a data table you can cite (the figures and their method), and the sources every figure rests on.
- UK M&A statistics: deals and values by quarter, 2026: UK M&A in 2026 by the ONS count: domestic, inward and outward deals and their values for Q1 and Q2, with the first month of each quarter.
- Buy and build strategy: how UK consolidators buy, and where to see it: A buy and build strategy buys one platform business and bolts smaller ones onto it. How UK consolidators announce their deals, and the figures ICAEW has published.
- UK acquisitions tracker: the public records that show who bought whom: How to track UK acquisitions from public records: Companies House PSC filings, the CMA's merger cases, Takeover Panel disclosures and the Gazette.
What it does not do
- No ranking of buyers and no scores.
- No paid placement, no affiliate links and no sponsored rows.
- No buyer named from hearsay: only from its own announcement or a public filing, dated.
Who answers for it
Joseph Ellul-Turner, the person who reads every enquiry this site takes.

This is a free information site run by Joseph Ellul. When you send a brief, he reads it and replies to you himself; it is not passed to any broker or firm, and you pay nothing to ask. The site carries no advertising, no sponsored placement and no affiliate links. Every figure is read from the named authority's or company's own public page on the date shown, and a buyer is named only from what it published itself. Nothing here is tax, legal, regulated or investment advice; check the source before you rely on a row.
